No, my son is having a rotten time in the second grade. I am very encouraged by your post though. My son's services are changing now to include autism resources. Hopefully, things will get better when he has the appropriate services.
I am so glad to hear that Isaack is doing so well in school. Sounds like the school is very supportive and on track. Getting the right teacher is really key. I noticed with Ian that we also need to be mindful of fellow students when placing him in a class, but the principal is on top of that.
We had a rocky start. Ian didn't sleep well at first, but he has adjusted and is doing well. We did have to adjust his meds because he's grown, and the dosage needed to go up. So far, so good. Duncan is thriving in Pre-K. His teacher is aware of his PDD-NOS and, interestingly, had done a paper on autism several years ago. She is AWESOME! The kids in his class are really great, too. After having a talk with the director of the preschool, we have come to a solution of more routine for me as an aide, and it has helped a lot.
It is very great to hear of your good news. Too often we all probably post about the difficulties. It's good to hear when things are going smoothly.
That is all great news to hear. It is always so wonderful to hear when things are working out well for a kiddo and thier mom. Glad you get the PCA break and such as well.
Don't have to tell you how our year has been, lol. At least Mike's triennial is tomorrow and I don't expect any challenges there other than the usual stamina ones of making it through the LLLOOOONNNGGGG meeting. Hehe, I even invited Mike's teacher to bunco later this week. She said she would go if she didn't have an IEP that day. I told her that bunco was the PERFECT way to relax after an IEP and I should KNOW!
Wow, Debbie!

I wish you continued success :)
