A hug and thought out to our NY friends.

I finally have an hour off today near lunch time. So instead of doing housework I decided to make myself a nice lunch and sit and watch tv. I got all prepped and was looking forward to some down time.

I have a favorite sandwich, some soda I have had hidden away, my remote in hand and turn on the TV only to have a big news broadcast about a plane (small) hitting a building in NYC.

Wanted to send hugs to Paula, Sara, Jackie and all the other NYC moms.

I saw it on the news at work and thought oh my G-D terrorsts but held my breath. At that point they weren't even sure it was plane. But my mind figured from what I saw that I highly doubted terrrist based on what was hit and where plus amount of damage.

On the news for the rest of the day just flipping the TV. It turned out it was a small commuter plane beimng piloted by a NY Yankee Pitcher Cory Lidle (sp?) apparently he and the co pilot/instructor were both killed. Not sure if anybody was injured in the apartments.

Sad for the Yankees and the pitcher's family. Relieved it wasn't terrorists.
But go to any of the all news networks you should be able to get more info.

Oh mi gawd and we were 2 blocks away when it happened, 'cus we were taking Malcolm to his new small group therapy at hospital pg nearby, none of the other kids got there even 'cause they shut down the subways and the traffic was all backed up. So Malcolm got a private with the 2 psychs running the small group. Actually, it was his 2nd sessions and I think having a private was great for him, 'cuz now he has a more personal relationahip cemented with the psychs.

Of course, it was POURING rain when we came out and traffic was still snarled up for a million miles, so we got pizza and waited, then found a cab across the park. Malcolm was a total trouper about the whole thing, esp. because he had his plastic sandels on and could jump in puddles to his heart's content.

We are so sorry that it was a Yankee, one of Malcolm's favorite teams. My dh flies small planes, so he is already all over the net finding out about the accident, they do that, those pilots. He was sure it was pilot error, he was the moment he heard about the accident. Said it was a classic pilot-error type scenario, with how foggy it was in NYC and how low the clouds were, easy to get disoriented and not sees an upcoming building...

Anyways, thanks for the well wishes. We are OK.

xoxoxo,

Sara
