First a big thank you to MaryAnn and Molly. It was really fun to walk with Molly, well when I did but she watched Dave and Cait for me. THANK YOU MOLLY!!!!!! Unfortunately I only got to see MaryAnn in passing as she passed the other way. Mr. Mike was a bit (to put it mildly) overwhelmed with it all so I was in the process of trying to keep him from going into full meltdown the whole time and couldn't talk to much of anyway.

Over all it was a success. There were MANY MANY people! I never did find the tent they had set aside for those who needed a break space. That was unfortunate as it was entirely overstimulating and nerve making for our resident autistic but he really worked hard to hold it together.

I learned one thing, BOY can that kid RUN! Thank god we only did the one Mile. He would sprint ahead and wait for me a bit as I kept trying to run to catch up. But he kept getting further and further ahead. Woe to those who tried to interact with him when I wasnt there, LOL. I think we were the first done with the 1 mile but they had 5K runners finishing too so hard to tell.

NOTE to self. Train for next year so I can keep up and make Mike a t-shirt that says "Person with Autism. Do not talk to me!"

On a really cool note, whem Mike and I crossed the line they announced our name and commented how we had a really big team! That was VERY VERY COOL!!!!!

As stressed as Mike was he was very proud of his running ability. I think we have found a calling for him. I have been trying to tell him that for a while but this time he actually saw runners and found he enjoys it.

I am a tired, sore mom. The muscles aren't sore but me bad knee is in rebellion. At least I have been to the doc and know how to settle that problem enough that I can keep up with the boy for now. Either that or I have to find him a running partner.

Congrats to both of you! Isn't it great when you find something your kids can really get into?

DS (6) and his grandpa are running a 5K next month for Easter Seals. I walked it with him last year and he kept running ahead of me too. I was happy when his grandpa ofered to run with him this year. Heather

Renee!!!!!! We had so much fun! You are welcome. It was so cute how Liam wanted to hold Cait's hand. Dave would run ahead and Liam would run too! What a beautiful day.

That is so cool about Mike's running talent. I hope your knee is better. Mine started to hurt and I couldn't walk to the other end of the park to see the fountain like Liam wanted to. I explained it to Liam (as I sat on a bench to rest) and he actually listened and did not have a tantrum!! Yes!!!

We were glad to be a part of your team:)
