I was expecting a fight on this one. I was expecting them to de-classify her.

Instead they are sending her into 2nd grade with pretty much the same IEP as she had in 1st:

  • A consultant Special Ed teacher 3x per week

  • A shared aide (with two other kids)

  • Pull-out Speech Therapy with a small group

Dear Paula,

Congrats! That's great news and, I imagine, a great relief, whew!

And even better that she is doing so well that you might be worried!!!

Fabulous, Paula! Here's hoping that all future IEP are as painless as that one!

Well, its so nice to have a stress free IEP meeting. Our last one with Liam was kinda like that. Perhaps things are FINALLLY settling down....maybe....

Yippeeeeee!

I am so happy.

If it's working, why change it? (But a lot of schools would really want to.)

Congratulations to you and Siobhan.

How cool is that? No argument.

Ya know I remember one year when Cait was up for her annual or maybe it was a tri. I thought she was doing well but there was no argument on services, etc. I almost felt jipped. Like HEY, don't you want to declassify her?

I am glad she is doing well and things are staying the same for next year. Shows those are the right supports if they are working.
