Happy Easter ALL! I got the worlds greatest mommy gift for Easter. I got to hear david sing with me.
Dave is an interesting duck who flirts with the edge of the spectrum. One of the wierd things he always did is he would refuse to sing. In preschool, in church school, at vacation bible school, in first grade now (his teacher's DH comes in and sings songs with them with his guitar regularly), church, in the car, he will not sing anywhere that Dave I am. Always just stood there motionless and soundless. After a couple years in vacation bible school he would do the motions if no one was looking.
Music is big in our house. I am often singing, we often have music on. It was enough to make a mom's heart break.
Well today in mass I was holding the music for him to read pointing along when I heard it. He was SINGING! AND LOUDLY!!!! What a beautiful sound! So yup, that is the kind of thing that gets me and I spent the rest of mass trying not to look like a blubbering idiot.

Awwwwwwwww!
How sweet.
Of course, he probably won't do it again until next Easter, but at least he did it once.
There is hope...

Oh Renee, what a beautiful gift! Isn't it always "extra special" when something like that happens in church? Claire said "mama" for the first time in church at 2.5 years of age...but I wasn't able to stop myself from looking like a blubbering idiot! LOL
Hooray for Dave!
