OMG, How the hell can I be genetically linked to this man...aaarararaghghg! Yes ladies my Father is in town A.G.A.I.N!!! I have been listening for the last 48 hours how all the people my Dad has seen the last few months while he's been travelling (friends and family ) have disappointed him, by daring to to actually have lives and not drop everything to accomodate his presence....fume!!!
So naturally I guess he assumes I am suddenly going to drop all and wait on his lordship and hand and foot. I had a dentist appt this am (not good, need impacted wisdoms and back molar out...whaaaa). So I told him last night where I'd be and I wanted to go to Tae Kwon Do for beginners (the boys are getting me into it); I'd be back by 1pm. Oh No, couldn't I be back right after the dentist and we could get something to eat.....fine. Well here I am noon and the poopy head is STILL in BED!!!!!!!!
He has always been a night owl and will sleep al day if let, but man I could have gone to Tae Kwon Do and been back and no doubt he'd still be in bed. WTF.......I have to endure this narciusssistic egomaniacal behavior for 4 more days, oh and if I even smell a drink he's off on a knowing rant about needing to go to AA (he's been in the fellowship for 20 years). Now I have to go upstairs and wake my own father up as I am starving and I have to be back by 2:30pm to get Liam.......Man I am openinga bottle of wine tonight and he can kiss my big fat lily white gluteous maximus!!!!
Right vent over

Your Da sounds like my dad - perfectly capable of taking care of himself in all manners..until he comes to my house ahe regresses 70 years!!!
but...Have you started TKD???? I have told the instructor that I will be starting but I haven't yet - waiting for my husband to get home so Idon't have to make child care arragements for a few months.... My son LOVEs it, and I think it would be a great stress reliever for me.... so have ya? huh? huh? you like it??? I think it will be a great Mom/son thing and he sometimes feels like he gets a little left out when I am up to my ears in DD stuff.......

The older the crankier ya know. My MIL is a royal pain in my A$$. She act the same way with the High and Mighty attitude and waiting her heiness hand and foot. UGGG
Hang in there, he's just visiting, and my inlaw lives 30 min away and is like having another child. She's a stone's throw from a nursing home, she doesn't know it yet :)

Ah! But for the wit of the Irish duo, no? What would I do without the humor stylings of Miss Dee and Miss Paula!
Dee dear friend, I truly sympathize with your situation...and couldn't possibly give you any better advice than that which you got from Paula. But if would make you feel better, perhaps you could pretend to not actually share any the man's genetics! Make up some deeply involved alter ego that was actually the product of interplanetary beings who only left you in Ireland with your "Da" to test your fortitude as a superior life form? I mean honestly, we all know that you are a superior life form! One needs only to glance at Roan to be convinced of such.
If that doesn't work...drink until he's tolerable. That's how I always deal with both my inlaws and my own family. :-)
