Thanks for the warm welcome... I look forward to getting to know people here.
A little bit more about my family...
My 3-1/2 y/o DS with ASD is Gavin. I also have a 16 mos. old DD, Gabrielle. She has a hand deformity, & receives PT & OT in the home. She's also a bit behind in her motor skills. For example, she's still not walking. I also have a 8 y/o custodial SS, Alex. He has ADHD. B/C of the physical disabilty in DH, the developmental disability in DS, & the behavioral disorder in SS, I can't help but sometimes wonder if there's something wrong with DH or my genes. (With the exception that SS is not biologically mine.) This is what I think about. DH's name is Derek.
Thanks, everyone...
Gina

Hi Gina,
I didn't get a chance to welcome you earlier, so I just wanted to say hello.
Well Gina I did the same thing wondering about the gene pool. LOL
My dh has "unconfirmed" Aspergers and there are some questionable things about some of his relatives.
God has a plan. I want another child so badly I'll be 33 this year. What will be will be.
I have just one child who is 3 1/2 named Adam and is PDD.
Glad to see you're sticking around

I'm new here too. Isn't it great to feel accepted so quickly?
As for the genetic thing. I can attribute almost all of DS's "quirk's" to either something I see in myself or something I see in my DH. DH's family has some ASD issues and I have a nephew who is OCD and a bunch of other things I can't remember right now. Am I the only one with a fried brain? So I have to wonder if we were destined to have an ASD kid.
Glad to meet you.
Heather
