The support group I'm in decided last yr to do a fundraiser this spring for our group. We wanted to raise money to buy educational materials and for awareness activities for our comunity. We decided on hosting a golf tournament. I've been really busy lately getting ready for it. That's part of the reason I haven't been here much. It really came together nicely. We've done way better than we expected getting sponsors. We have 15 hole sponsors (donated $100) and a car dealership donated a 2 yr lease on a new car if anyone gets a hole-in-one. We also had lots of prizes donated buy business and food for the lunch we'll serve. We had 20 teams of 4 golfers sign up and we have a waiting list! I'm really excited. Today is the big day. We are going to be able to do good things with all this money we've raised. You know our public library doesn't have a single autism book!!!

One of our members also put togeather a video with pictures of our kids and autism stats like the five for fighting video. She is going to enter it in their contest. When its up I'll send you all the link.

It went off without a hitch :) I'm really surprised at how smoothly it all ran. Our President did a fantastic job making banners for our autism table that had some different PECS books and then the Five For Fighting type video one member put together. It was awesome and made us all teary eyed, lol. I don't have the final official total but the rought numbers looks like we raised $3600!!! We are all just giddy.
