Another Special Day Ruined

Somebody somewhere must really hate my guts because evidently I'm never going to be able to enjoy a "special day" again.

14 years ago today, DH and I got married. Since babysitting is hardly an option for us, we decided we'd take the whole family out for a nice dinner tonight. Which I was really looking forward to. But, once again, Claire is in rare form. It seems she's decided to take her "rare form" and make it more "standard issue". She did this on Mother's Day and my birthday...pretty much ever holiday.

Not sure what started the first meltdown today, but it was an ugly one. Her attendant had to pull me out of the classroom I'm working in to try to address the matter...but to be honest, I'm out of ideas. And if this keeps up, I'm pretty certain I'll be forced to resign. Can't hardly be effective in my job when I have to spend all my time dealing with Claire. It makes me really sad because I already love my job.

The second meltdown- that is still going on- took place because the principal failed to call the bus dismissal in the "proper acceptable order". OMFG what a nightmare. Every student, every parent, every staff member on the grounds witnessed it. I'm not even sure how I'm going to walk back into that school tomorrow morning.

Looks like we can add another med to the "tried and failed" list. What am I supposed to do when absolutely nothing else works?

Sorry for the sob story. Thanks for being my only friends.

Try not to be too hard on yourself. You did nothing wrong.

Walk in there tomorrow with your head held high and know that we lare all with you in spirit, if not in person.

((((AMY)))) congratulations on 14 years! I'm sorry dinner was awful, you really deserve a break. I hope you can find something that works/helps for Claire, she has got to be miserable to be melting so often and so horribly.

You know I have been there standing outside the classroom and it does get better. Honest to god it does. You don't need to be embarrassed going back. I was mortified a few times but found when I did go back people were really sympathetic and understanding.

I hope today is a better day. I hope you find some kind of respite.

Hi Amy,
I am so sorry. I am thinking of doing some nuero transmitter test for my son, he has similar melt down issues. But I am not sure, may be you can look into it and see which one she lacks that causes her to meltdown so much. I am sure she hates it too, poor thing.

Running out of ideas myself, take care.
