Hi, all
My ds, Max (6, AS)is in an inclusion classroom for first grade. His teacher posts the homework on the school's website on Mondays and we turn it in on Fridays. I have a hard time getting Max to sit down and do his homework, so needless to say, on Thursday night we were doing it. He had to write 5 sentences for his last assignment. He started out writing, "I love my dad." But then it was getting late and my dh was pressuring him to finish. He wrote "I wish I was dedd", with dead spelled incorrectly. We did not correct the spelling and I was very embarrased to turn in the homework, but we did. The next day I was dreading a call from the school but it didn't happen. The teacher just returned the homework and corrected the spelling of the word "dead"! Thank god I had already had a meeting with her and our therapist the first week of school! I am glad that she didn't overreact. There are times when you have to laugh or I'd be on meds too!

Hi Susan (my statemate, lol)
Don't worry, Liam announced this week in school when he was frustrated with something that he was "a frea, and just "kill me." I didn't find out until I pushed for why he received a 3 out of 5 for behavior....sigh
Oh and i AM on meds...thank Goodness, lol

Hello,
That is a funny story...kinda. Thanks for sharing.
Yikes! five sentences? That could take my 6 year old all night. school hasn't started in my area yet. I hope our 1st grade doesn't have such a long assignment, or I'm going to have to teach my guy how to type!
