Hi I am Nora. I live in Pittsburgh PA, mom to my son Adam who is 4 dx'd with PDD. Got out tag 4-19-06. We get special ed preschool 3x per week. This year he is riding the bus--all is good so far. He also gets 10 hrs per week of an inhouse aide who is wonderful and my son LOVES him.
Adam is a high functioning kinda kid, he loves to be just a boy----dirt, cars, just playing hard!!!! We still get out patient speech, he tested out of OT this past year. He started Adderall 2 months ago. Although not dx'd with ADHD, our doc feels his "tendencies" stem from him having PDD.
Overall he is doing great, besides the picky eating.

Hi,
I'm Hannah, old as dirt at 43....last I remember I was 32...then I had kids!
Ugh all! I feel like I'm the one w/ communication difficulties tonight.
I'm Betsy, turned 40 this year, Mom to 5 kiddos (tho I suppose since 2 are now taller than me I shouldn't call the kiddos anymore). Married to the same man, Michael for almost 18 years. We currently live in South Carolina, but have also lived in Wisconsin and Illinois (where we were both raised). I am currently working as a costume designer and seamstress, but due to family issues I'm thinking of going back to being a stay at home mom or finding something, part-time, none stressful, and only while the youngest is in school so I'm physically present when needed (which seems to be 24/7).
My middle child, Weston brings me here. He's Dx with autism. He's 11 and just started the 6th grade-- middle school. He's mainstreamed (even takes some gifted and honors classes) w/ pull outs and supports (OT, SLT, resource & social skills). It has been a VERY rocky start to middle school. He needs much more help, support and supervision than his older siblings.
I also have Warren, 16 in just over a week, high school sophomore, Dx with ADD-NOS, he flirts with the spectrum. He has lots of social issues and very Aspie-ish characteristics but functions pretty well day to day. Has gone off his meds due to hating the side effects. He's on an IEP and goes to resource class periods a week for help in organization and writing problems.
Amelia, 13, 8th grader, over-achiever, leader, mature, gracious, popular, etc. She has all the social skills her brothers can't seem to master, has overcome some learning differences and accels when she keeps her attitude positive. (I think we may even be through the worst of puberty snarkyness)
Martha, 8, 3nd grader. Dyslexic. Very social, very smart, very mature, very understanding of kids with differences (seems to have a great knack at picking out the autie/aspies for being friends with), still struggling with learning to read and spell. Has a fabulous memory!
Owen, 5, kindergartener. has sensory issues, probably has ADHD, tho was not formally Dx. He's doing ok in kindergarten, but having a little problem with rigidity (he's a rules police officer!).
