Boy have I been neglecting this board here. I just don't have the time or energy and it feels like lately all I would say is more of the same.
And it is more of the same. Cait has had 4 episodes of double vision this week, daily for the past 3 days with yesterdays lasting 5 hours and STILL can't get any answers. The neuro gave me a lame response of trying to play with her seizure meds again and go back to the opthamologist so he can see while she is having it. From what he told me I didn't think it was neccessary. He already determined what functionally is going on with her eyes but does not know the cause because the cause is not her eyes. UGH.
So far we have tested heavy metals, thyroid function, MRI, saw and opthamologist and are scheduled for a EEG. I have kept a diary of her episodes to see if there is a pattern or food trigger.
Her lead was slightly elevated but not enough to cause this, she has one lesion which probably indicates no MS but can't rule it out 100% yet, found something that might be an Arnold Chiari malformation but it isn't as big as they usually diagnose so waiting for the neuro to look at the piccies herself (which I sent but she hasn't seen yet), she has some eye convergence issue which is new but more a result of what is going on than the cause. And a partridge in a pear tree.
The whole family has been sick for days including Mike who has turned into an impossible beast since last night. feelign better enough to do more than sleep but still feeling yucky enough that it is the worlds fault. He wanted to go to school yesterday because his temp was finally under 100 but he was still looking awful. STUPID DH makes a crack that if he goes running around at school like this he will catch pneumonia which Mike took literally. Now he is pissy and telling everyone he can't get up off the couch because he will get pneumonia and die.
On a good note I got Mike's report card. Remember this is from a special needs school so a bit different than a regular but on his academics he got all A's and 1 B. On Effort he got all 3's and 4's (which is good) but on behavior stuff he mixed it up with about half "needs improvement" and half "outstanding".

Renee,
thanks for the update.
The brain still very much uncharted territory, unfortunately.
