ok ladies i need your help!! im losing my mind here, as u know we are still fighting to get Rylee diagnosed, and ill hear word today if my complaint was heard loud and clear and if we'll be able to take her to the Weisskopf center or not. anywho from all of her therapist of course they all have their own opinions and they are all different so im more confused than ever.
The Psychologist says pdd-nos, anxiety, & sensory issues
The OT says Anxiety Disorder, with Sensory Processing Disorder
The Speech Therapist says, Asperger's with SPD
i really truely havent done alot of research on asperger's and so i was wondering if u could tell me could sites to research or if u had anything u could share that would help me better determine if

The psychologist basically says what the other two are saying.
Pdd-nos and Aspergers are pretty much the same in my opinion.
Amy,
Neither a speech therapist nor an occupational therapist are qualified to diagnose an autistic spectrum disorder. Therefore they can say what they want, but what they say is not official, excapt as pertains to their specialty: speech function and occupational therapy "stuff" Any 'disgnosis' they try to make outside of their field doesn't hold any water legally, educationally or with anyone who can actually give your child services.
You will have to go with what the psychologist says. If you disagree, you can go to another psychologist, a psychiatrist, a developmental pediatrician or an neuropsychologist. All of these are qualified to diagnose.

Amy,
When Nathan was younger...preschool age...we had the school district look at him and do their tests.
thanks michelle
i know her other therapist are not qualified to diagnoses and they know this, they were just offering up their opinions on what they felt we were dealing with so to speak.. i dont care for her psychologist weve been butting heads for weeks now and thankfully ive got a knew one starting next week so i can wait to hear what she has to say . hopefully she can give me a clearer picture on what im dealing with.. and like your son i think Ry has HFA but again im not the qualified one to diagnose, but id say us mommies are pretty darn close to beiing qualified!
