a couple of days ago, my daughter started having one of her anxiety/panic attack meltdown thingys (haha as u can see i have no clue what to call them).. anywho, i knew we'd be starting with the new psychologist soon and i thought i better get this on film so someone will finally see what im talking about.. SO I got about 15 mins worth of footage, its mostly Rylee panicing over what color to choose to paint with (its actually painful to watch her struggle so hard), but u see her come out of it and shes almost like a different child..
so my question is, do u think it is wrong for us to share this video with family members who still dont seem to get what we deal with ?? im not trying to make them feel bad or anything i just need them to understand the severity of what we deal with day in and day out.
all opinions appreciated!!

I wish I could show my family what we go through.
Remember, though, there will still be non-believers and those with little compassion.
I would just second the pp--
Your DD is still young enough that tantrums are considered normal in typically developing children and while I haven't seen the video, I could imagine that even a serious tantrum, to the untrained (and unwilling) eye, might look like a normal little kid meltdown. Hopefully it will help get the message across, though!

Ginny, thanks for the tip on that dvd thing. I have so many it would be good to do that.
Amy, even if just for the sake of myself to see the progress my kids have made, I am often disappointed that I never did video tape those kinds of episodes. In fact we would cut those out on purpose. We spent so much time video-ing for inlaws that lived across country at that time. I can now tell when the tantrums started because we would suddenly stop filming. I made my DH edit them ALL out.
Now that my kids are significantly older I have been asked at times if I have such videos for educational purposes or even to note progress. I don't. I wish I did.
I also wish I would have taped them for diagnostic purposes at the time. Not sure it would have made things faster but I think it would have helped.
