We are going to OT once a week and yesterday she ask me if we noticed DS flapping his hands. I said that I have seen just a little bit. So I ask his teacher and she said that they noticed a little also. So I called is Doctor and he said that it is not uncommon in Aspie children. So I just know what to do. DS just started to taking Prozac and he is not doing any good on it. If you have any ideas please let me know.

My ds does the hand flapping, hopping, open/close mouth thing. After years of having doctors shrug their shoulders when we asked what it was (one diagnosed a benign tic disorder), we finally had the school psychologist tell us that he was stimming. After researching it I'm sure she's right. You can find out alot about it if you search the board or google. I think I saw a video on youtube or something and it seemed to fit. Good luck.

Hand flapping is common...I don't think you really have to do much about it ? I guess it depends on how you feel. I don't think most people focus on it.
