Wow! It sure sounds like the school is complicating things. But, I guess that can be pretty typical, huh? I hope the meeting goes well and the school gets things straightened out.

sheesh! they could save so much time pain and money if they willingly did what was suggested in the first place-- just install the silly software.

bureaucracy strikes again!

Samantha,

I got stressed just reading your post. It sounds like the school are being very techno-ignorant, foolish and careless. Kyle should not be penalized because *they* lost his work. How hard is it to re-do something you have done once already? Especially without the proper tools! The poor kid! I feel horrible for him. He must be stressing no end about this.

No matter how this situation gets resolved, I hope it happens quickly for Kyle's sake.

Oh Lord. I work in a university and we get this All The Time. Couple bureaucracy with incompetence and you have a recipe for revolution, frankly. I something think there must be entire buildings staffed by people who's job it is to process the paperwork we need before we are allowed to get up....

Hang in there, poor Kyle and poor you having to deal with this. I have to go punch a pillow just having read it :-)

THIS is exactly why schools end up in the hole financially. The dam bureaucracy and red tape and no one can figure out or put into place an easy solution. Stupid Stupid. Too many cooks in the kitchen or something.

Samantha, isn't Kyle's work backed up somewhere? Don't the files get backed on a routine basis? I really don't understand this. If they want to operate a lab, then all the machines must be setup for automatic back up at the end of the day.
