Does anyone ever feel like their autism list is too much?

Molly, girl. Simplify.
I am right with you. autism is overwhelming these days. but lets simplify.
1) letter to the govenator.Screw it. Really in the grand scheme of things how much will it help and is that amount of help worth the stress for you with whatever else is going on. I swear I believe arnie did this just to freak us allout so he could get something he wants. PLUS I have been through a couple of these things now since beginning teaching and it is all cyclical. It will pass within a year or a few until the next time.
2)What info do you need from the carol gray books. Did the ASA meeting still have the lending library? They usually have those books and there is loads and loads of info online on how to write a social story. If you need a social story for liam I can write one and send it in a few minutes. HOnest, I can write a decent social story if I have the information within 30 minutes with visuals. It is easy once you get the routine down. (if you have boardmaker at your disposal, lol. which I do)
3) Take that essay just a little at a time. Say I am going to devote 10 mintues to it today and set a timer. If you are really rolling with the timer beeps then keep going if you want (but only if you want). If the timer beeps and you are struggling and can't get going then stop. Put it aside and try again fro 10 minutes the next day.
4) the IEP adn autism specialist. - treat me to coffee and we will prep for that IEP. I gotta have some time in the next 2 weeks! You treat to the coffee, I will bring my laptop and we will whip out those concerns, etc.
and on the specialist, well just let them forget then SQUIRM in the IEP. If you have time remind them that they said someone would be out. But if you don't get to it don't stress, let us see them squirm for screwing up and provide more for liam cause they realized they screwed up. You can call but if you don't get to it don't stress!
Right now you have 3 priorities.
NUMBER 1!!!!! your health first and foremost.
2) the regional center essay - sorry. cant work around that paper work for ya, just plug away a bit at a time.
3) prep for IEP by writing concerns. the biggest thing is to list your concerns so you are sure they are addressed. We can use the list of concerns for all the rest (present levels, etc) adn write during the meeting.
AND AND AND if you don't have a chance to do all the concerns then oh well. we can reconvene team anytime to address things that come up or were forgotten. No worries, no stress.
xt
I get a lot of rest, I take time for myself, and then I prioritize the rest of the list.
First I take care of me.
I do have to disagree with the letter writing part of your post Renee.
Hi Renee,
