I've been calling around all the doctors that are listed on my insurance company's website as a provider.

Does your insurance cover Children's Hospital? If so, you can try their neuropsych dept in Rockville (is that too far for you?). Maybe you could call their offices and see if they could recommend some doctors. For awhile we'd been seeing Dr Laura Anthony at Children's. We liked her.

I need to start looking for a new therapist myself. Our insurance changed, so we can't use the doc we'd been seeing. I was hoping to get away from all the appts, but ds is clearly demonstrating that he needs help (although when we WERE going to the doc, he wouldn't apply anything he'd learned or even suggested for himself, so I don't know why I bother other than to make myself feel like I'm trying to help).

Edited to say sorry I flagged this message as important. I don't know what I'm doing any more now that my login name got changed back to an old name. I guess maybe it's defaulted to mark all the messages high priority? Gah! I guess I'm much less computer literate than I thought.

Ginny,

when in Carroll county we had a fabulous therapist for Liam. She was in Overlea, MD, which was a hike, but it was worth the schlep. She was the FIRST person to say PDD to us (even though I knew, she was the first professional after loads trust me). She also pegged Cian who was in the waiting room at the time lining up the world and organizing the dollhouse, lol, and was only 2 years old.

If you need her name and number feel free to email me. I know for a fact she took Aetna, but hopefully she'll take your ins too. She saw Liam when he was barely 5.

I'm so sorry your insurance doesn't cover them. They were the ones that dx my kids and I really, really liked them (wasn't so fond of the offices but the docs were great).

I hope Dee's suggestion pans out for you.
