Question about GFCF diet

We have started Gray on a Gluten/Casein free diet. I can find lots of Gluten Free items at the health food stores (says on the box) but I'm afraid that unless it says no casein on the box that it is in there but under a different name. What other names can casein be called? I know dairy free doesn't mean casein free, right? I'm confused! I don't know what to buy!

I am no expert, but I thought casein was a milk protein, so dairy free should be casein free, -unless it was specifically added back in, in which case it should be on the list of ingredients.

Hopefully someone who knows better than I will chime in

No, dairy free doesn't necessarily mean casein free.

Go to tacanow.com (or org, i am not sure), It has an extensive list that are GFCF and also a plan as to how to make this possible

I don't know much about them, but from what little I do know...unless you really know what you're doing you shouldn't give them without doctor supervision.

We actually LIVE in Olney, so we know Roots very well. Is their casein in peanut butter? He has gluten free peanut butter and Enivorkidz (something like that) gluten free peanut butter cereal. They are both gluten free and I don't see casein in the ingredients, but is there some IN the peanut butter?
