How to make my inlaws hate me...

If you recall, last week I posted that our oldest has been accepted into the district's gifted middle school.

Hi Amy,
That's great, though, that you are considering choices for ds in 2 programs, though. Our ds would not be OK in those kinds of programs, if for no other reason than that he's never been mainstreamed, and the size of the programs would make it too hard for him with his sensory issues. Oh well. We have found artsy kids to be very understanding and accepting, though, both at summer theatre camp and now recently in home school theatre show. We have no idea how geeky smart kids would be!!!
Wow, are your in-law really that close-minded? Whew! Poor you. Maybe they'd be more accepting of the grandchildren pursuing their God-given talents? Sad if they would see it any other way...
Hope the weather stays cool for you these last weeks,
Sara
Oh $cr** em.
WOW bummer of a decision to have to make huh, ROLFMAO!
Great for Noah. I am so glad he has these chances. What school would he like to go to? I am not sure with Mike if he were given that choice. He blends well with the artsy type cause they are way quirky as well. Never had a chance with the gifted type so I don't know. Hmmmm
BTW, I did find out Mike got into the play for that same reason (boys). They never have enough male actors. In his play there were 4 boys and 14 girls. Naturally all the boys had pretty big parts.
I say go with what his interests are and what he wants to do. Screw the grandparents. It is wonderful that he has made it this far.

yep ditto what Renee said.
It is nice to be in demand. You'd almost want to *tell* the ILs that you are going with the arts school -just to shorten their lives.
Or am I just too evil?

Arts school all the way! the benefits there are great and he might do better w/ less pressure on the academic side of things.Since it's public school they have to offer essentially the same level of academics. besides ticking off the in-laws definitely tips the scales to the arts program! Don't tell me my son can't be an actor!
