I don't know of any off-hand. Maybe the doc was thinking the sensory seeking was linked to anxiety so by treating the anxiety, the behavior would decrease?
I know if my kids didn't get enough sleep their sensory seeking (in fact, all their behaviors) would escalate, so that's another thought. But this is just speculation.
I would ask her specifically which kind of sensory stuff she was thinking. Is it more the overstimulation when he gets really wound up? Maybe she is thinking some sort of ADHD med for some of the hyperactivity kind of stuff when he is overstimulated.
Is he really anxious? For some reason he doesn't hit me as an anxious dude that much. He is pretty happy go lucky most times I have seen him so to me the crashing and such isn't so much about anxiety but over-excitedness. But I only see him in certain situations (usually around my kids and he is happy) so that may be different than other situations.
There are not specific meds for sensory stuff like there are no meds for autism but you may be able to use or try meds to treat some of the symptoms that come from these things (like anxiety or hyperactivity)
How is his focus in school? It seems from what I recall there wasn't any complaint about his ability to focus. So for the crashing all I can think is something to slow him down a bit like a tiny dose of tenex or something similar. ONly because it seems when he gets dysregulated his tendancy is toward hyperactivity due to sensory overstimulation.
I would also be interested in how the vests work for him.
Oh, needed to call you to. Wanted to find otu how things were going after the meeting last week.

Hi Paula,
I think the dr told me about possible anxiety meds for future reference at the time I really didn't talk to him about the sensory seeking.
Hi Renee,
Yes you are right he is not that anxious.
Molly, head over to the SID board for a bit.
