PPT Question

The school recently did a full O.T. evaluation on Ds after previously denying services two years ago after a basic screening. In preparation for the upcoming PPT I requested in writing that they send us a copy of the evaluation and any other data that they used to determine present level of performance prior to the meeting for us to review. The O.T. sent home a note today saying she will share the results at the PPT! Aren't we entitled by law to get copies of any evaluations prior to the meeting? They also scheduled the meeting for June 9 and school gets out only 6 days later. No time for further evaluation or discussion. The last PPT this O.T. was at she didn't have any report to give us and "none of the school's printers are working" so I can't print anything out for you. (They were able to print out notices for the upcoming bake sale.) She just gave us a verbal denial and left. I feel like we're being taken for a ride here. What is the law regarding sharing information? Are we entitled to it beforehand or not?

According to IDEA you are an equal member of the team, and in order for you to be properly prepared you have the legal right to get these evals in your hands 5 days before the meeting.
Since there not doing that I would go over to the spec ed board or wrightslaw and find something that states this and send another letter out, because if they don't, they are denying your child a FAPE.
Also if they can't print, they can certainly
Lainie's right, you absolutely have the right to see all the evaluations prior to the meeting. That's crazy that they could print out stuff for a bake sale, but not for you! Sounds a little fishy to me. I hope you can get the evals soon so that you can be better prepared for the meeting.

yep what Lainie said. You are getting the brush-off, and you should send in a brief note in writing requesting all copies of all reports prior the meeting as is your right under the law.
