Well, here's mine(m)

1) Have you ever given $0 tip when you’ve received bad service?

Yes

2) Do you like to play computer games and if so, what’s your favorite?

Solitaire and Freecell. Can't move my fingers fast enough to keep up with the other ones--LOL.

3) What’s the last thing you felt guilty about eating?

Hmmm, let's see. What was the last thing I ate?

4) If you could change one thing about your childhood, what would it be?

I had an abusive childhood. I was raped at the age of five by the minister who ran the children's home I lived in. That would be what I would want to change. On the other hand, as ugly as it was, surviving that is part of what made me who I am. If I changed that, would I lose who I am?

5) Motivation is a key factor in writing. What can we, as a group, do to keep each other motivated?

I think by doing what we usually do -- give friendly but honest feedback to each other.

My five...

1) Have you ever given $0 tip when you’ve received bad service?

Yep... though I felt guilty afterwards.

2) Do you like to play computer games and if so, what’s your favorite?

I MUST do the crossword puzzle on ivillage each day. PLUS I like to play the FreeCell card game until I win three times in a row. :)

3) What’s the last thing you felt guilty about eating?

A donut for breakfast this morning... It was FRIDAY, what can I say?

4) If you could change one thing about your childhood, what would it be?

I wish I had a sister.

5) Motivation is a key factor in writing. What can we, as a group, do to keep each other motivated?

Feedback, feedback, feedback!

my Fri 5

1) Have you ever given $0 tip when you’ve received bad service? No, but I've done worse, I've left a nickel.

2) Do you like to play computer games and if so, what’s your favorite? No, and it's probably just as well.

3) What’s the last thing you felt guilty about eating? Lunch, it was a very strange mixture of all the worst things from a salad/Chinese food bar. But it sure filled me up, tho now I need to go and borrow some chocolate.

4) If you could change one thing about your childhood, what would it be? When I first thought about this, I thought maybe I'd change being the odd one out of the family, but then I wouldn't be the person I am, so .... I just wish they had dealt better with having a cuckoo in the familial nest, and appreciated me for what I am. Still.

5) Motivation is a key factor in writing. What can we, as a group, do to keep each other motivated? Honest feedback, much participation (I am a major offender here for the last couple months), bring more people in.

Here goes...

1) Have you ever given $0 tip when you’ve received bad service?

Yep.

2) Do you like to play computer games and if so, what’s your favorite?

Yep. My favorite has to be American McGee's Alice. Grrreat graphics and a great story, too.

3) What’s the last thing you felt guilty about eating?

Well, I don't necessarily feel guilty about eating it, but a nasty chimichanga I had for lunch is making its displeasure quite known to me.

4) If you could change one thing about your childhood, what would it be?

A certain "inappropriate touching" incident from when I was 9 or so. I could only really face up to it about two years ago. It's the sort of thing you can never really make "go away," no matter how hard you try. But I'm not so afraid over it anymore.

5) Motivation is a key factor in writing. What can we, as a group, do to keep each other motivated?

Feedback and encouragement are always helpful. This has been a sticky month for me, but encouragement always helps me along.

My Five (m)

1) Have you ever given $0 tip when you've received bad service?

No, I'm a sucker when it comes to tipping. I always tip, but I might cut it to 10% for bad, then bump it up to 20% for good.

2) Do you like to play computer games and if so, what's your favorite?

For a while, I enjoyed playing the Trivia Pursuit and Millionaire games but haven't done so lately.

3) What's the last thing you felt guilty about eating?

I ate some Girl Scout cookies. My hubby and I went on a new exercise/diet program last month but I had to slip a few cookies in the beginning. I've since quit cheating and lost 5 lbs and walked 55 miles in 30 days.

4) If you could change one thing about your childhood, what would it be?

If I could magically wave a wand, I would change the fact that my father was killed when I was 12 years old.

5) Motivation is a key factor in writing. What can we, as a group, do to keep each other motivated?

Continue to give each other useful, specific and honest feedback.

FF

1) Have you ever given $0 tip when you’ve received bad service? No - I've given teeny tips, but not $0.

2) Do you like to play computer games and if so, what’s your favorite? I try to stay away from them, but mah-jongg and solitaire suck me in from time to time.

3) What’s the last thing you felt guilty about eating? Potato chips with lunch today.

4) If you could change one thing about your childhood, what would it be? My favorite cousin moved out of state when I was eight. I wish she had stayed and we could have grown up together.

5) Motivation is a key factor in writing. What can we, as a group, do to keep each other motivated? I think encouragement is a big help.

I know what you mean (m)

sometimes I wish this or that wouldn't have happened, but like you said those things in our lives have shaped us. So I guess if we're happy with who we are, then there was a reason that certain events occurred.

Thanks for being who you are. I think you’re an incredibly special person!!!

Your "nickel" reminded me (m)

that one time we had this waitress that never (I mean this literally too) came back to our table except to drop off the ticket. So my hubby wrote, "Tip: Check with your customers and see if they need anything" where the $$$ amount should've been. Of course, this embarrassed me to death, but he was right. Poor service shouldn't get rewarded.
