I actually find it amuzing what Peters mouth looks like when he takes his soothie (not that he takes a paci all that often, wish he did). My kids loved their Nuk's and Mam's as well...He just doesn't want anything but mommies booby. And frankly, they'd like a break!

LMBO. I noticed this the other night. I thought it was nice to see that my JJ actually wraps his tongue around it versus my first ds which kept his tongue flat (very painful during nursing). However my JJ will only take a paci every once in a great moon. I think it is to big for his mouth because he usually ends up gagging to the point of choking so I need to order the preemie ones and see how that goes.

YES! I like the description of a carp, it's about perfect! We bought some soothies in addition to the nuks just last week. A woman in my playground mentioned that her son can't put his own paci back in his mouth in the middle of the night because he can't get the 'direction' correct, since the nuks have a definite up and down. Cole loves his paci, so I wanted to start him in on the non-direction specific kind now just in case!

i think it's creepy too... but kate only takes hers once in a while. she prefers a nuk! the carp reference is perfect... that's exactly what it looks like!

haha That is funny! A carp is a perfect description. They use the soothies at the hospital Reece was born at and that's the only type of pacifier he will use - he hates the Nuks, and will only "kind of" use the other kind (not sure what they're called) that are shaped like the Soothie...
