So, this last November, Elizabeth got salmonella and was terribly sick.

Adrienne - That would be overwhelming. I have no idea what it might indicate. Try not to worry. Hope your DH has a quick, uneventful, and safe tour of duty. We'll be thinking of you and your family. Keep us posted!

I am so sorry that you are going through this ! I can't even imagine what must be going through your mind. Know that we are praying for you and are here for you. Please let us know how Elizabeth is doing.

Don't google! that's all i have to say. in 2008 I had multiple unexplained bruisings (at one point i counted 50 bruises all over my body) and a platelet count of 5,000. (normal for an adult is 150,000-400,000) By the time i had seen the hematologist a week later it had dropped to 3,000. It turns out that i had an acute case of ITP (idiopathic thromocytopenic purpura). i had to spend 2 days in the hospital getting IVIG to bring my platelets up to normal range, and then I took steroids for 6wks. I'm not sure what the course of action for a baby/toddler would be, but that's what they do for adults.
