I am considering cutting back Rafs daytime naps to 1 at around lunchtime because he is becomming a nightmare night sleeper.I had this issue some time back and cut back his hours then which seemed okay but now he is going to sleep at 7 and is up at 4am.I need him to sleep longer than that at night.I try keeping him awake later at night but he does not tolerate that at all..will scream until

Glad to hear you getting a little more sleep, that's crazy :)

Evan has only been doing 1 nap a day for 2 mos now. He goes down anywhere from 12-2pm and wakes up at 2-4pm depending on the day. Then goes back down from 9pm to 9am. Yesterday we were out for lunch and he didn't get to have his nap until 3pm! He only slept until 5pm tho so PHEW...

I think you should just go with whatever signals he is giving you...maybe he wants to move to only one nap?

At daycare they transition out of the morning nap when the kids move from the 0-12 mo room to the 1-2 year old room. In the infant room they sleep whenever they want and in the next room they put them down at 11:30 or 12 and let them sleep as long as they want. Some of the babies sleep 1 hr and some sleep 3. My JB will transition next month but they will let her come back to the infant room for morning nap if she wants one for a while...I'm not sure how long.

It might be worth a try to cut him back to 1 nap a day...it seems like somehwere around a year many babies are ready for that.

In my personal experience, naps always had phases of regression and so did night time sleep.
