Yes, the mirena is a variation on the IUD which is a small insert into your uterus.

Julianne - You know I was thinking, sometimes people have an increase in lochia around the 6 week mark, as their uterus finally settles down to non-pregnant size again. Maybe that's what your "period" so early was? (I know it wasn't exactly 6 weeks, but so early when you BF would be unusual, especially since you then you didn't get your period again)

Spencer- a year would have been great! My body had other plans, I guess!

We are using condoms currently... well most of the time. lol. I have never been comfortable with hormone stuff- I was on a lot of diff bc pills in during and right after college. I never felt right. One actually gave me un-ending morning sickness, so then I was on anti nausea meds at the the same time. Craziness. I'm sure stuff that's out now is much better, though. I don't know much about mirena (it's an implant kind of thing, right?).

Aimee- I know what you mean about peace of mind. I'm not crazy about getting AF, but at least I know I'm safe for a while. =)

Julianne- So strange about af at 2 months and then nothing. I remember with my first daughter my body was out of whack for a while- 35 or more day cycles.
And YAY about your DH coming home!!

Bummer that it's back already :( I'm hoping for longer than a year this time, since this time I'm not TTC again!

What are you going to use for BC? I got the Mirena and love it :)

I actually had a period at 2 months PP then haven't had one since. I'm exclusively BFing so I was surprised when I even got that first one. I've wondered when I could expect to get it again. DH comes home in March and I've got no birth control lined up, so we shall see.

I got my first pp period at a year with my first. No sign yet this time. The cramping could be your body gearing up. But you may want to poas if you hsd an oops. You can get pg before your period comes back!
