mine does. I don't think it's too old. If my Jb has his arms out he, like you said, wakes himself up. Actually he has just done this. He was swaddled and i was holding him and he was sleeping soundly.. Laid him on the couch and his arms came out and now he's flapping around and wide awake. I better go swaddle him again so i can work out. :)

must be a dominic thing, little man over here can whip his arms out of the tightest wrapped blanket. Lately i've been trying to let him wiggle around a little if he's not upset so to promote him falling asleep on his own

*raises hand* When we've exhausted all of the "Why is he crying?" options, we swaddle him and that normally does the trick. Oli was done with swaddling by the time he was about 2 weeks...Keelan's 4 now and he still just loves it.

If Wyatt is over stimulated and needs help calming down to go to sleep then he likes to be swaddled. He has never liked having his arms swaddled into the blanket. Now he hates it at night because it makes it more difficult for him to roll over and back. So I have just been putting him in nice warm jammies at night. That way he doesn't need a blanket because DH and I like to have the AC on nice and cold at night while we sleep.

Ben and Alex were probably 2-3 months old before they stopped wanting to be swaddled at night. Now, Audrey has a Swaddler blanket, so we use that, so it's not as hard to keep her swaddled up at night, but she's wriggling her arms out by 5 AM when she wakes me up.
