Wow...Not sure if your grandma is anything like mine but I've definitely noticed my grandmother's internal 'censor' has really loosened up as she's gotten older. It can get embarassing sometimes! Sorry she said that though...seriously not nice!

She's always been like that. She's in her late 80s and as smart as ever. Just doesn't know what not to say, I guess.

It's funny now that I think about it, but at the time I felt uncomfortable.

sorry about the comments, I'm sure she didn't mean anything bad by it. What we have to look forward to when we get older "acting a little crazy" :) I remember with my last pg, my grandma asked me if I knew what DAY I became pregnant...I didn't answer, a little too personal to be giving out that info to grandma. I know she didn't mean anything weird by it :)

i'd cry if someone called me "fatso"! Heck, I almost cried when I walked into a party (a friend of the family's rehersal dinner) and the first words out of my mom's mouth (infront of a room full of people, half of which I didn't even know - the groom's side) were "well, you don't even look pregnant!" I think she immediately realized that I was taken aback because she tried to follow up saying it was the shrit was wearing (a dark color) and the fact that I was walking straight toward her, but she never did apologize (and in fact tried to "state her case" again later that night when it was just the two of us). I didn't say anything, but jeez - how insensitive! I'm overweight too so I'm very aware that I don't have the cute round basketball belly of most pregnant ladies, but you can for sure tell I'm pregnant if you're not a complete idiot (and especially if you are a member of my family who knows how I normally look!!!).

I don't think this is meant to be rude at all, but people keep telling me I don't even look pregnant! It makes me wonder if I just always look this fat or what! I lost 20lbs right before I got pregnant, and I CLEARLY have a pregnant belly now. When I gain, I gain all over, but I've never gained a perfectly round belly except during pregnancy. I think people are trying to give me a compliment by saying I don't look big, but I am feeling more "you're normally big so I don't see much of a difference."

That's how it makes me feel when people say it. It seems like they're saying, "You're so big another person can hide inside of you and no one suspects a thing."
