I was wondering if anyone knew of any ways to prevent those darn stretch marks..I just started getting them for some reason and I'm obviously not a fan.

This is my 3rd pregnancy (almost 36 weeks now) and I still don't have any stretch marks. I'm fairly certain it's genetic.

However, I think I'd prefer stretch marks personally ... you can use scar creams after the birth to help them fade (and they'll fade some over time anyway), and there are multiple laser treatments that can be used to make them go away. While I didn't get stretch marks I have instead been inflicted with separated ab muscles and skin that regardless of my weight loss looks a bit like a deflated balloon around my belly button. Only way to deal with both those issues is surgery. I'd take a stretch mark on firmer skin anyday!

There aren't any cremes or medications to prevent stretch marks. It's all skin genetics. I was not blessed either. My stomach is covered in them. Sorry. :(

hmm, I was unlucky enough to get bad genetics when it comes to stretch marks. I get them horribly like my grandmother did!

yup...nothing you can do to prevent them...funny thing is that I got them all over my butt because of weight gain and loss during the years, but I have none in my belly...my mom has them in her belly and they are horrible, even though she had me at 17 and has always been SUPER fit.

I did get INSANE celullitis all over my legs with both pregnancies...and never had any at all before I ever got pregnant...I guess pregnancy comes with a price.

To be fair, once I got back into pre-pregnancy shape you can't really see them on my tummy at all.
