Haven't started these yet, although I've been wondering when. I've had 2 3T appointments so far. I know they're looking for protein in urine, and I'm wondering if they aren't checking mine right now since my blood pressure is really low - basically not risk of pre-e at this point.
Haha I was JUST thinking about this yesterday at my appointment. It was like an obstacle course trying to get it all done without getting it all over myself. I can't see ANYTHING down there so trying to aim a freeflowing stream of pee into a tiny cup? Almost impossible. I'm praying I don't end up spilling it on myself or peeing all over myself one of these days...I'd be mortified!! I like the ones at the hospital where its almost like a funnel that you put over yourself and then it goes into the cup. No chances of spills or anything and you don't have to aim...I'm sure its more expensive to keep those in stock but it would make OUR lives a lot easier!
LOL... my OB office doesn't have me pee in a cup, but I have to check my urine keytones every morning and recently dumped a whole cup on the floor because my belly was in the way :) Good thing we don't have to do this much longer!
I too have had to do a urine sample at every appointment since the beginning... i think it's standard procedure for my OB, no matter what your pre-e risk is. they use small plastic drinking cups, so it's not as hard. although sometimes i do overflow the cup bc i can't see what i'm doing, lol! yay pregnancy bladder!
Lol thats too funny. One of my coworkers just asked me yesterday 'how do you pee in a cup while pregnant, i can barely do it now with no belly' i usually make a mess of the cup but i always try to wipe off the cup so its not nasty for the nurses.
Actually, those are harder for me to use! With my first pregnancy at the first appointment I had to go to a different location bc my doc wasn't going to be at the regular location for a while. They used those funnel things there. I somehow managed to get pee all over myself and the floor while trying to use that thing, and I was only 6 weeks pregnant. I guess I was nervous. lol
I have to pee in a cup and test my own urine each appointment. Not only is it an obstetrical course, but the whole time I'm in there I usually have DD who is 17 months old. She gets all curious and I have to give her 2 clean cups to play with. Otherwise, she tries to take all the used ones out of the trash and take pretend drinks out of them!!!
I've had to give a sample at every appointment from the start.
