I'd love to get the optional 3/D ultrasound around 30 weeks!

I did with dd and I LOVED it...It made me feel so connected with my dd before she was born and when she came out it was like "OMG THAT is MY baby" lol

Was trying to upload a picture but my computer is being dumb lol

I splurged on maternity photos last time and I think the 3D u/s will be my pg splurge this time. Just for the pictures, not to see gender, don't want to know that. We did some in 3D at the 19 week one, but baby was still very skelator and needs to fatten up before the pictures look cool

Hey!

I had one with DD and it was SO SO awesome! I had it at 30 weeks. Best thing you can do beforehand to get a really good picture is drink a ton of water. I would definitely recommend it! It's just amazing! I drank 100oz of water before my appt. and WOW it was soo clear and just beautiful. I got to see my little girl in such awesome detail before she was born! It's just the coolest thing. I think they have even gotten better since I had DD in 2008. :) Go ahead and splurge!!! It is totally worth it! I got color pics, b&w pics, a disc of the whole u/s and a disc with all the still pics. It's amazing to go back and watch it now that she is almost 2.5 yo!

I want to recheck gender too because first they said girl then boy (it definitely looked like a boy) but I still want to check LOL because I was in such shock after thinking for 6 weeks it was another girl. And it's just too cool to see your LO in such amazing detail!

Good luck!

Heather

Thanks for the advice! I think it would be so fun to have the u/s...just wish they were cheaper!! Guess I'll have to see the money situation is going when the time comes. I just keep thinking about all the other stuff I could buy for baby with that amount of money :)

I did as I did not know sex still @ 30 wks.
It was cool but I dont know if it was worth the $$.
Its neat to see their faces in 3D but my DD was also smooshed against placenta & my DH said she looked like Chunk from Goonies :)

I didn't get a 3D u/s (it wasn't even offered to me) with my son, but I've seen other people's and they look kind of freaky to me!

Obviously her hands didn't come out all blurry but that's pretty much exactly what my baby came out looking like! If you get the 3D u/s too early or your placenta is in the way/casting shadows or whatever you won't get very good pictures but dd wasn't cooperating at first and we still ended up with some awesome pictures.
