Strip Membranes and/or Breaking Water by Doctor

Last Friday at my 39 week appt. the doctor said that if I hadn't delivered by my next appointment, that if I wanted her to, she would strip my membranes and/or Break my water if "conditions" were favorable.
With DS#1 they had to break my water for me.

I may be getting the membrane stripping done tomorrow. I've never had it done, but I will let you know my experience.
And I've also had abnormal paps and procedures, so I am hoping that prepares me for any discomfort.
Here from the July board... already had my little mister but I can offer some experience...
Water breaking (no pain meds for any of this):
The doctor broke my water for my second and third pregnancies. It broke on its own for my first and fourth.
I had my membranes stripped today. It was really uncomfortable while it was happening, but it wasn't painful. Maybe it took 30 seconds? I just wanted her to hurry up and be done.
Nothing is happening. That was about 5 hours ago (still too soon to tell, I think)
