2 moving babies. heart rates 166 & 168.

Dr says measurements look good. Going back for 2nd blood draw @ 16w.

Scan was awhile as Baby B did not want to give us a profile. Dr said identical twin boys, but dont tell anyone boys yet as its still early. Also said amniotic fluid level looked normal.

He said 17% chance of TTTS & also risk of uneven placental sharing, so I get u/s every 2 wks starting @ 16 wks. Its a PALs dream ;) He said drink extra protein drink as its been shown to help.

I was so dead after that I totally forgot to ask OB about 18wk scan & she didnt mention it. In fact I dont see her again for 6wks. The OB appt was boring, she said it was too early for amniotic leak.

Yippee for me!

Mindy thats awesome news!! And I am sooo jealous of your u/s every 2 weeks. Truly a PAL dream =)

I am so glad everything went well, and that the heart beats and measurements were great. Hopefully you can get a *little* rest from PAL bain after such a great appointment. Is your morning sickness doing better? Did you get any pics?

TTTS is Twin to Twin Transfer Syndrome. It happens with Identical twins that share a placenta. They can develop an unequal balance of blood, nutrients, etc. Not good but not always horrible either. And, not every set gets it as the % shows.

for protein drinks that are highest in protein, I found the PURE PROTEIN shakes at Target to be the best/highest. Also the bars are half-way decent. There's also a can of powder you can add to anything. The protein source in that brand is from mostly WHEY protein rather than SOY. Too much soy has been questioned in pregnancy, so be sure to mix and match your protein sources. Quinoa is a grain that is very high in it. You can eat it like a hot cereal with some milk and sugar or as a lunch/dinner with other seasonings. Weird stuff the first time you eat it.

Yay for you!!! You will still be going in for the anatomy scan at about 18 weeks...

So happy for 2 healthy moving babies! Gosh, you are going to be seeing a lot of those babies...lucky girl! I'm sure they will just do your 18 week a little extended as part of the every 2 week scans.

thanks! ya Im hoping my PAL brain takes a rest. Of course now Ill freak about twin to twin transfer
i got a bunch of pics. baby a was doing crazy flips & of course all I thought was dont do that you're gonna get tangled! baby b was a bit more sedate but punching his arms.

My m/s has lightened up a bunch but ironically Im puking more now than before. Im hoping in a few more weeks I might feel normal for a few weeks so I can clean my house!

Ah, Ill have to check out those shakes. Good point about the soy, I probably would have forgotten all about that.
I love quinoa, I never thought of eating it like cereal. You've got all the tips ;) Thx!
