the bloodwork at the first appointment probably was all normal. I can't remember everything they check for, but they run an STD panel, including HIV. They do blood typing and they check for immunity to measles. They might check for anemia, but I'm not sure. At my first pregnancy, they did the cystic fybrosis carrier test with the first blood round of blood work. We were negative for cystic fybrosis and as it turns out, despite having been immunized as a child, I was NOT immune to measles. They can't vaccinate me while pregnant, but they vaccinated me before I ever left the hospital after my DD was born.

Essentially, no news is good news ....

Otherwise, congrats on an uneventful appointment. That's the way they should be at this point :-)

Lab tests came back and I'm not a cystic fybrosis carrier and my odds for down syndrome are something like 1:19,700 and spina bifida was also negative in the quad screen! Yeah healthy baby! :)
