Wow, FIVE hours! You are strong, mama! I'm sorry the experience has you debating more children, but just remember that EVERY birth experience is different. This little guy has paved the way for his future siblings, and it's not always true that babies only get bigger--my LO was 5oz smaller than my ODS and I pushed him out in 15 minutes, even though he was posterior. Glad you're all happy at home now!

Congrats on your little man. Yes your fear will wear off. I pushed for 5 1/2 hours (also the same case the MW let me push so long because he was not in distress) and he ended going to the NICU after all of that. With our second one, I was in labor for a total of 6 hours and pushed for 5 minutes. So don't let this labor discourage you.

You are so courageous for pushing so long and you did it!! Way to go mama. Glad to hear you two are doing well and everything went well.

Oh my , A big congratulations!!! I'm glad he is here and healthy :) yay, on losing all the extra weight right away. It's true that generally after the firstborn, the others are pushed out considerably quicker! Every pregnancy and labor can be so different. No matter how miserable I was, I always get the baby fever a couple years later. So amazing how quick I forget :) Congrats and enjoy every second with that precious little guy :)

Thanks everyone. I forgot to mention a key detail, the cord was wrapped around his neck twice. One of the loops (not sure the inner or outer) was wrapped around his neck and under his arm. The midwife thinks that was probably a big reason for things taking so long since he was even wider. On a brighter note, having the cord also wrapped under his arm also probably helped keep him out of distress- which I am very thankful for.

Congratulations :) Glad everything turned out well after 5 hrs of pushing! You must already have the patience of an awesome mom! I know how hard it is to watch them take your little guy away and prick him over & over... glad that is done and you are home!
