Ugh! I've got it. I showed up Friday to take my 3 hour but they had decided to skip it and just treat me as a diabetic. I met with the dietitian today and she taught me how many carbs

Thanks, ladies. I'm going to get my testing supplies tonight or tomorrow so I can get started. I'm going to start following the diet today and see how it goes. Breakfast wasn't too bad. I had an english muffin and a greek yogurt.

Ugh! Greek yogurt and english muffin. 1300 cals is hard enough when we're not pregnant. Sorry to hear. At least we only have a couple months left.

No kidding! I totally blew dinner because Olivia was starving and wanted to eat as soon as we got home. I made prepackaged noodles and forgot to check the serving size.

Hi Sunni,

I wanted to share a link with you to the Pregnant and Diabetic board here on iVillage. If you are in need of some advice or support regarding your diet in these last few months of pregnancy, you may want to check it out. I know they'd love to hear from you!

I'm sorry, Sunni. I'm sure you're disappointed. It sounds like you have a good plan to manage it. I'll be thinking of you...

Thanks, girls. I've had 3 good sticks and will head to that board now. I need to get the diet under control and figure how to feed my family. DH tried my tester and didn't listen to the directions so his reading came back at 306. Mine was only 95-lol.

Thank, Jess! I've only been following it this week so you're definitely not too late to chime in. I hope your shower was good! I've found a very thin bread that is only 15 carbs for 2 very thin slices. (Did I mention they are very thin? lol) I’ve been buying the pasta that looks white but is healthier since it came out so I’m ahead of the game there. I drink milk and eat peanut butter for my snacks-yippy. Sweets are rarely a problem for me but it's good to know one of my favorites (3M) isn't super awful. I love dark chocolate and I bet that's a better choice, too. My OB wanted my 1st check of the day under 90 but the dietitian says under 100 is fine. Today, it was 91. They also wanted my 2 hour check to be under 120 while the dietitian wanted my 1 hour under that. I've decided to follow the dietitian's 1 hour rather than 2 hours since she's the one who's going to tell the OB if I need shots or not. I went meat shopping last night and cooked pork for dinner. I didn't go back for seconds but probably ate more calories than I normally get because of the meat. Sadly, I left the table feeling unsatisfied. I'm sure it will take a while to get over my carb cravings. I’m making baked steak for dinner tonight but will skip flouring my piece. I know it will get some carbs from the pan gravy but it’s the best I can do since I won’t eat just a plain ol’ lump of beef. On the rare occasion we have potatoes, I always make homemade mashed potatoes so resisting a large or second scoop will be the hard part.
