Hip ultrasound on Monday

At Maddie's 4 month, the dr was concerned about asymmetrical leg creases and that one leg appears shorter. We have an ultrasound scheduled for Monday to check for hip dysplasia. Another indicator of dysplasia is not bearing weight evenly in both legs...are the othe babies bearing weight if you hold them in a standing position? I didn't think anything of her not doing it until now.

She is 13 lbs 11 oz and really long (but I can't remember the number)!.

I hope everything is ok and that the ultrasound goes smoothly!
I just checked Connor today (as I hadn't been really letting him stand, as I didn't know I was supposed to) and he does bear weight pretty evenly on both legs. I get to find out on Wednesday how much he weighs.

The more I read on-line...the more anxious I get about the possibility of her having an issue with her hips. I just hope that we get the results quickly. They said it is usually within 1 day but sometimes takes up to 2 days. I grabbed the 1st appointment of the day on Monday so I hope that works in our favor.

The worry and unknown is the worst part :(

I hope that everything will go well at the u/s and that the results shows everything is perfectly fine.

Dr was iffy about this at Ellas 2 month appt. She cleared her at her 4 month though. She doesnt really bear much weight yet still. Dr just thought there was a length descrepancy. Hope everything checks out fine for you guys too!

Got her results - right hip is normal and left hip is borderline normal which means if needs to be monitored. Our pediatrician is on vacation so I spoke with one of his partners that said we would schedule follow up scan in 4-6 weeks. Fortunately, my SIL is an orthopedic so I was able to talk through things with her and she said there is a good chance things will resolve on their own. I plan to call our pediatrician on Monday when he is back to make sure he agrees on waiting for another scan before seeing a ped orthopedic.
