Madelynn 3 weeks checkup

So Madelynn turned 3 weeks yesterday, she had her 3 weeks checkup today, My baby was 9pounds 8 ounce at birth , at her 1 week checkup she was 9pounds 15 ounces, and today at 3 weeks she is 11pounds 6ounces,,,, I mean i know it is a lot, but these nurses were behaving like it is so strange, which i really don't care, she is a baby and feeds every hour and a half to 2hours..I am not going to starve her, i am sorry....she is a big girl. They just need to get over it with all these silly questions, (why is she gaining

Good for little Miss Madelynn :) My boy gains a lot too and he just likes to eat. I try to let him go as long as possible, but once he's hungry, I'm going to feed him and not make him wait until he's really upset. My doctor wanted me to try and stretch his feedings for as long as possible, but I told him I will only stretch until he's hungry. August seems to gain about a pound per week and maybe Madelynn will do the same. Are you breastfeeding her?

She's so cute by the way!

Yay for big babies! Miranda was 11lbs 1 oz at 4 weeks. My pediatrician smiled and said "good job, momma!" She's being BF with one bottle of formula every couple days if she's home with daddy while I run errands.

Yes, I do both breastfeeding and Formula....It looks like she does gain a pound a week....you r soo right

Grow girl grow...isn't that what they're supposed to be doing right now!? I think sometimes people just get to caught up with babies weights. I think Ella is somewhere between 12-13 pounds and is 7 weeks old! She is completely bf'ed and eats every 3 hours during the day on average. Not like we are feeding them junk food! If they are hungry they tell us and I'm sure as heck going to feed my hungry baby whether its been 2 hours or 4 hours!

A pound and a half over two weeks isn't an abnormal weight gain!

Considering she was big when she was born I wouldn't think nothing of it. RJ was 8 pounds at his 1 month check. I think he will be 11 pounds at his 2 month check. I'm only breastfeeding

Either they complain they gain too much or not enough. Are doctors never satisfied?

I think all babies gain at their own rate. Sounds like she is doing great!
