I know its a really common pregnancy complaint. My Dr. told me to take colace daily and use metamucil when needed, but right now I don't have the $ for them. Anyone know any other cures (other than prunes?)

Oh this department SUCKS for me!! 2 days I'm constipated, then its the total opposite for a day with horrible tummy cramps, then it goes back to constipated for a couple of days then the total opposite again. I'm over it. Its not like I'm taking ANYTHING to loosen my stools either. Its flipping miserable.

I hope you find something that helps you!!

the ONLY thing that worked for me was metimucil capsules. I was mega constipated. like, haven't gone in 4 days. I am a vegetarian so normally I eat tons of fiber. but with the prenatal, along with the nausea (I could only stomach carbs) it was so constipated. I ate 3 fiber one bars a day. 2 colace a day (you can get generic at walmart for like 3 bucks) and metimucil capsules (generic at target were like 4 bucks). then things went back to normal.

Its been 8 days now! Being dehydrates/hyperemesis really messed me up. I'm going to try to get the generics you listed, they're the same thing the Dr said to get and that's a price I can manage.

For me it is drinking milk. I can usually have a good bm within a day of having a couple glasses of milk. Of course I hate milk, so that is about as high on the list as the much dreaded prunes.
