When did the doctor say you can give the baby cereal and jar food? My doctor said if we wanted to give the baby a little cereal we can start at 4 months. Are you giving your baby cereal already? When will you? Why aren't you?

My little guy is a big big eater and watches us closely when we eat... So we will dab a fingertip in yogurt or something about once every other day and let him lick it off. I have the feeling based on this that by 5 months we will at least try rice cereal. Our pediatrician says its ok to occasionally try a tiny bit at 4 months though.

We will start rice at 6ish months. We will probably start baby food then as well, we are going to make our own though. First thing we will try is avocado. Its a good starter :)

The baby bullet helps make doing you own baby food easy. It comes with a blender then jars and a tray to store your food. I am excited to use mine.

Thing about avocado is, I don't eat it. So I wouldn't want to taste it first before I feed it to him lol I see that bed bath and beyond has the baby bullet for 60.00 dollars so I'm going to buy it from there. I checked online, its 99.00 plus S&H which is 20.00. That's a bit much.

William watches, too. Then, he smacks his lips. Crazy! Olivia was a great eater once she accepted the spoon so I hope he's the same way.

Jayla-before you buy the bullet, check to see if your FP came with a mini attachment set. Mine has a smaller blade and bowl that are the perfect size for small batches like babyfood.

It's funny, I don't eat avocado either yet that was DS's first food! :)

Bed, Bath, and Beyond has 20% off coupons in the Sunday paper all the time, so I would try to track one down before you buy it - just a thought.

FYI wal mart carries the baby bullet, at least ours fo & they've got it right now for 54.88! It just makes things easier & is convenient with its storage trays & containers. Plus its cute, lol. I dont have one but saw the infomercial before I was even preg & wanted it! I will start Ella as late as possible. I feel like I was to stuck on guidelines with my other 2. I will go by her guidance! I will also make her food. We will have a pretty huge garden & I feel great about all of us eating super healthy from that. We snack butIm funny about how we eat and want us all to eat healthier. So Ella will be on strictly bm until prob 6 months or longer.

I'm going to use my birthday money this year to buy myself a food processor, because the blender isn't that good for small batches or for things with less moisture.

Like other people have said, I just soft-cook whatever food I'm making and do it up in the blender, then freeze it in ice cube trays.

So i'm probably the only one but i started my last two kids on cereal at 3.5 months. I'm also a fan of gerber jar foods. I admire all you moms who make your own baby food.
