I'm a little worried that dh is going to be really bummed if we find out this isn't a boy.

Mine says he doesn't care. I don't know if I believe him though.

I don't think DH would mind either way.

If the baby turns out to be a girl and he seems disappointed, just point out that it was his job to determine the gender, lol.

Yeah I think most guys really want a boy, which is why i was relieved when our first was a boy.

@ Gina - I will definitely remember that line! :)

@Allison - This is our last. Dh has always wanted a bigger family than I do. A part of me is worried that if we don't have a boy he will be pressuring me to have another and I really don't want to have more than two. I feel like we can have a comfortable life financially with two, but more than that would be stressful (to me at least lol). Dh is the 2nd oldest of four...he has two brothers but they have step children and none have the family name. Dh is big into his family history (as was his father who passed this past Spring). Their family is one of the Mayflower families, which is a big deal to him. I'm a mutt, so I really don't care lol, but I know it is important to him to carry on the family line.

I have a son and my DH has a daughter. I'd really like a girl this time but I'm honestly okay with either. My husband started off wanting boy but now says boy, so I think he's probably okay either way too! LOL We'll know for sure in two days!! :)

He's hoping for a boy but has been feeling like it's a girl and isnt upset about it... So I guess he's fine either way...

If he is really into wanting his name to be carried on because of its history (which I completely understand, what with having a history degree, lol), maybe he can try to instill that into your child if it is a girl. That way, if/when she gets married, maybe she will either 1) keep her maiden name or 2) hyphenate her maiden and married name. It is happening a lot more often now that women want to keep their maiden name, so by the time these babies start getting married, maybe it will be so common that it would be weird not to!
