Flu Shot?

So I went to my midwife today and at the end of my appointment she said they recommend getting the flu shot in pregnancy during these winter months. I've never gotten the flu shot and am very selective in general about vaccines...what are your thoughts? And has your doc or midwife suggested for you?
Anyone gotten it already? Any side effects?

I got mine two weeks ago also. Maybe a tiny bit of redness around the injection site for a day but nothing more than that. I've read and heard that it is highly recommended that pregnant women get it. Actually it was on the information handout they gave me when I got the shot also.
No flu shot for me.

I got mine at my last appointment. I didn't have any side effects other than a little soreness in my arm for a day or so.
I've never had one before and have never had the flu. My doctor and everything I've read highly recommends getting one when pregnant. It's not so much for us as it is for the baby. Plus, our babies will be born during the height of flu season and will be unable to get a flu shot until 6 mos (when flu season would presumably be over anyways); getting the flu shot while pregnant can help their underdeveloped immune systems fight off the flu once their born.
I'm also very selective with vaccines.
