Is anyone doing it? My friend mentioned it and then my husband did, too. I just can't remember how fast they change sizes. I know we need to grab NBs till the cord

HELLO!! so im not expecting a december 2011 miracle(congrats) but i saw your post when i logged into the boards. i say GO FOR IT!! but, i would onlyt buy maybe 1 or 2 packs of newborn. with my youngest dd, i had 1 40 pack of newborn and then the rest 1's, 2's, etc. and that was plenty. its kinda like buying clothes-its okay to have a couple of outfits in newborn but its better to have 0-3 months, 3-6, etc. i would probably try to buy a few packs each month and other supplies too. maybe like 5 or 6 BIG packs of 1's, 5 or 6 of the 2's, maybe 10 of the 3's, a couple of the 4's, etc. neither of my kids wore 5's or 6's...they were both potty trained by that time-but you never know...i would hold off buying those big sizes until you know...hth! good luck:)

Hi! My baby was born June 17th and we went through two boxes of nb and moved into ones where we've been. She was 8lbs 12oz at birth, left the hospital at 8lbs 5oz and is currently 10lbs 10oz. The newborn diapers and size 1's overlap in size so you can't go wrong with 1's. We'll be in them for at least another month or two. (And you can always return/exchange sizes - just keep receipts!)

Girl if I had the money I'd be doing it! I wouldn't go up to high in size bc honestly there'd be no place to put that many diapers! But I'd say get some nb, 1, and 2. I can't wait to buy a few packs. I'll prob just get nb and 1 for now bc I know they're quick to move into those. If you can do it, great, it'll help and you won't have those days in the midst of a diaper change you realize you're out.

We plan on buying a couple packs of newborn diapers, but by packs I mean the smaller ones, not the boxes. I forget how many NB diapers my son went through, but he had a tiny waist and thighs so he stayed in them longer than probably most babies do. So if this one is like his brother, he'll wear plenty of NB dipes. I'm probably not going to buy many packs of other sizes because I really do want to do cloth diapers this time around.
Plus, if you keep the receipts or register for the diapers (and then go in and mark them as bought already, lol) you can return them and get the sizes that you need.

I didn't plan on buying any of the 3/4s so they won't have to sit around forever. I've read that diapers have a 2 year shelf life but I remember pitching a pack of diapers with Olivia because they just felt stiff and crunchy. Maybe I'll go treat myself to 2 packs of NBs after work. How exciting...and pathetic.

I have a closet full and we have been buying one more pack every 3 or 4 weeks.

The closest I ever did to stockpiling was to buy a bunch of the current size in use when they went on sale.
