Tubal ligation

This baby will be #3 for us. (DS, DD and this on is a girl). We initially were satisfied with 2 children especially since we had one of each. Then I got wishing for another and DH was fine with it. I remember the conversation clearly. "I think I want to have another baby." "Sure.ok" me-"you're suppossed to talk me out of it." Lol! Lo and behold I am here and since I'm having a repeat section was offered a tubal ligation option. I talked to DH. He is 40 and I'm 33. He feels like having a 4th would be hard because he'd be like 60 when the kid graduates high school. I can see his point, so we're going to go for the tubal ligation. Any one else going through with a tubal?

I am getting my Mirena removed in two weeks (the 5 year time is up). Just want to say--don't count on NOT having a period. I've have my period every month on the dot the entire 5 yrs I've had it. But I loved it and would recommend it to anyone :)

I,too, loved my Mirena! It was the bomb! However, since I'll be having a section I figured the tubal could be a 2 for 1. If I weren't having a section, I'd definitely be sending hubby for a snip snip, too!

I LOLed just a little when reading this because you're so young. You don't act it though so please don't be offended...little one-lol.

I loved my Mirena-no periods, cramps or mood swings. I've heard paragard actually makes your periods heavier but I don't know anyone who's had it.

I'm one that has never taken birth control. The first time it was given to me was after I had DD five years ago, I didn't take it. And I actually didn't get pregnant again until we tried in March. I already know that I don't want anymore children once I hit 30, so I will prob have one more at the age of 28 and then I'm done. Hopefully DH will get the snip snip, but so far he's against it.

I do agree with you about the lack of credible sources, and honestly I was ready to do it with no qualms.

Have you considered Adiana? I was looking at Essure a few years ago but my family Dr was trying to talk me out of it. He's worried about future MRIs. My nw OB offers Adiana and that sounds like it would eliminate my family Dr's concerns.

Well, I've done some googling and I have to say I didn't come across any sources I would site as credible. No offense, ladies. I'm willing to take my chances; especially since I know so women who've had it done with no ill effects. I've had an IUD which many people in this country still consider to be controversial so I think I'll risk it.
