My DH's parents have passed away and so that is not a factor. My father will be called Opa, which is german for grandfather. We called my fathers parents Oma and Opa and so he is keeping that tradition alive.

All of my kids call my mom Grammy till they are out of the babish stage. I think they all stopped around 3-4 and then started calling her Grandma. So I'm sure we will refer to her and Grammy to the baby as well. My dad and step dad and DHs dad are Papa. Oh and DHs mom is Grandma.
DS calls my parents Nana and Grandpa, and my inlaws Gigi and Papa (my niece and nephew chose those).
My parents are grandpa and grandma, my MIL prefers to be called nana and her husband is abuelito, my FIL is daddy's daddy (the kids kept getting mixed up with two grandpas so they nicknamed my fil that) while his wife goes by her first name, and my grandmother is busha
My parents are Mamaw and Papa.
My mom made it clear when our first was born that she wanted to called Granny, the other grandparents never expressed an opinion so granny carried over to all the grandmothers and great grandmothers. My husbands dad was just automatically Papa Tom and now that he is their only male grandparent he is just Papa. My husbands mother hates being called Granny but tolerates it. My husbands grandmother really hates being called Granny and won't respond to the kids unless they call her by her first name. My husband is the only one allowed to call her grandma, his sister is only allowed to use the first name too, so it is kind of strange.
