For some reason my husband and I are having the hardest time finding girl names that we both like.

I laughed when I read Willow and Sage on your list - Willow was on our list too! But it was vetoed by my 11yo daughter :) The reason?! Because Pink just named her baby Willow Sage and everyone in the 6th grade would think we named our baby after Pink's baby. Which is apparently a major issue for a middle schooler :smileywink:

I have a long list of girl names I love that my DH has vetoed!

Alexis, Leah, Lily, Audrey, Autumn, Willow, Sage, Mary, Evangeline, Angeline

We are struggling with names too. We're trying to decide between Maya and Ava now. I like both, but prefer Ava. DH likes both, but prefers Maya... I guess we'll decide when we see her!

We can't find a girl name either. Husband is completely useless with suggestions, and he just vetos all of my picks. My current favorite is Harper. But he doesn't even like it. Sigh.

Good luck!

Well, I think Quinn is darling and, as the good Irish girl that I am, I put it on my name list for a boy until I found out it was used as a girl's name on a popular TV show. (I just can't remember which one.)

Lily is also super-popular (at least where I live) and quickly climbing the popularity charts. I know 5 of them under the age of 5.

I also love Adelaide and Adeline with the nn Addie, but the Addies are getting way too popular also :)

Its a short last name and her middle name is Helen. I'm in love with the name Quinn, and I thought hubby was too until last week when he said he's afraid it might be to boyish. I did like Abby until I realized how popular it is... 4 friends have named their baby girls Abby just this year. And I know 2 more that are considering it. The other one hubs likes is Lily which is super cute when she's little but I just cant see a person named Lily at the age of 21 at a bar... and I don't like Lilian.

If you are looking for great name suggestions, I strongly recommend nameberry.com. I have gotten some amazing advice from them. We are leaning toward Cora Noelle for this little one, but there are lots of other girl names I love. Just out of curiosity, do you prefer long or short names? Do you have a short last name or a long tongue-twister like we do? Here are some girl names we are not using but love:

  • Ivy
  • Iris
  • Violet
  • Quinn
  • Laurel
  • Sadie
  • Charlotte
  • Wynn
  • Willa

Hope some of that helps!
