Yes and i actually already have :) I'm honestly not sure why, I just think it's "what you do." My husband had bought some free and clear detergent so that the fabric softener sheets he bought would be nice and smelly and not overpowered by the scent of our detergent (too funny.) So I went ahead a washed her stuff since we had that on hand.

I'm going to wash things like his towels, undershirts socks etc, oh and what he will wear coming home. Either a newborn outfit or 0 to 3 months outfit. The rest I will wait til he's born just in case I have to return.

I'll wash anything used or not from Kohls. I'm not washing the Kohls stuff in case I need to return it. We've seen his junk twice now so it should be safe but you can't be 100% certain till you've got them in your arms. I figure it's safe to wash the stuff I can't return because, if we can't use it, I'll just give it away.

Definitely wash clothes prior to the baby wearing them. If you are worried about returns, wait til baby gets here.

You should actually wash all clothes before use (even yours!). Chemicals are frequently used on clothing (for mildew resistance, anti-wrinkle, even shine!) and they can accidentally come into contact with chemicals used for pest control, etc while being manufactured, stored or shipped. Of course there is also the issue of being handled in store, etc.

Baby skin is so sensitive anyways, no sense in taking risks of rash/irritation.

Absolutely! I'm maybe a teensy bit germophobic... Ok a lot. And I bought all clothes on clearance that I cant return anyway. Lol

I did! I've only washed up to 3 months at this point though...I figured I could do the bigger sizes as needed.

I have washed everything. All the store bought stuff was clearance so cannot return it anyway. However 90% of the clothing is yard sale/thrift store. I wash them just to make extra sure they are baby skin safe. Plus I am a team green so all clothing is gender neutral to start out with so no need for returns in that respect.

Yes, I will. We got a ton of clothes from a friend so I'm in the process of washing all of that using Target-brand Dreft. I'll also wash any clothes we get, unless we decide to return them only because we really did get tons of hand-me-downs. I did buy a few new things for him that I've washed as well. I washed the hand-me-downs just so I know they've been washed (even though I'm sure my girlfriend did already) and the new ones I washed because I've always heard that's just what you do. :smileyhappy:
