Yes, I got the pertussis booster. I was vaccinated as a kid but hadn't had a booster so it was recommended I get one. My DH and parents got their's as well. Whooping cough is highly contagious and quite serious for an infant. There's been a significant resurgance of whooping cough, which is why the new guidelines recommend boosters for adults, especially those who are around young children.

I did get mine when I did my 6 week post-partum check...my arm was definitely sore for a few days. I'd also be surprised if your tetanus didn't have pertussis in it as well since it's usually bundled.

I got mine in the hospital. My arm was sore for a few days, but that was because of the tetnis part of the shot. If you are JUST getting the pertusis vaccine, it shouldn't make your arm sore.

I cut my finger last year and it required stitches so they gave me the tetanus and pertussis shots in the ER.

I have heard that whooping cough is on the rise. The shots are greatly encouraged here in SoCal. I know someone who got it when she went to Mexico to visit family and brought it back with her.

The health authority should be opening up the pertussis criteria soon, so when they do, I'll get it.

I got mine. I already had my tetnus booster in nursing school. When I got the pertussis boost my arm was not sore. However a great way to help that is move your arm around. It helps the medicine work in your muscle quicker which helps the soreness.

I got mine in the hospital. We just had a case in the county next to where i live. Its a serious illness that shouldn't be taken lightly.
