Ian lost his first at around 6 years old, but Alonna's first didn't come out until she was 7. There are kids in my son's class who just lost their first tooth this year and they are all 7 & 8 years old.

Olivia lost her 1st in Jan. She was 6 & 3 months. I was shocked because she went to her 1st bday party with only 1.5 teeth. I didn't expect her to do it till she was 7. I've heard the longer they keep the baby teeth, the better it is for them.

My kids are late with getting teeth and loosing teeth. They both started loosing teeth when they were 7. It was towards the end of 1st grade.

It's my understanding that teeth patterns can be hereditary and this is a family trait on my side. My brother did not have any teeth until his 1st birthday :)

Amamda lost her first tooth about a week before she turned 5. She will be 7 in June and has lost 8 teeth. Her dentist told me that loosing teeth has a lot to do with how early they began getting them (amanda was 6 1/2 months) and also genetics. There are others in her first grade class who haven't lost any yet.
